The weird thing is that … okay, the takes on my dash covered the entire gamut of responses to TROS, so I wasn’t sure what to expect (beyond basic spoilers). But I did think I’d ultimately agree with some faction or another, esp since I have very decided opinions on the more controversial parts of the franchise (I love TLJ and largely dislike the prequels, say). But it’s honestly difficult for me to care that much about it. My overall sense was that I’d just seen several movies of varying quality smashed into one moderately okay one.
It’s … there are individual elements that I’m really happy about (mostly on the Skywalker feelings front) and things I really dislike (the whole Palpatine arc). But mostly it’s—well, that happened.
tbh the main effect was that I suddenly felt like going back to my AU fic and outlined three chapters. /shrug
