And, oh, YES, EVERYTHING YES about the droids, and the droids as reflections of Anakin-qua-Vader. They are just so on point, both just as characters in themselves and then in that way of, "Yep, it's Anakin, of course he's still building droids and of course they're attached to him--- because Anakin, as you once rightly said, bonds deeply and emotionally with his furniture, let alone thinking beings--- but they're the sort of droids that Anakin During His Sith Time would build." And Ellex! Especially Ellex! Leave it to him to repurpose an enemy battledroid! She is just what Vader should have as his droidly pal!
And, yes, Bast Castle is my fave because of its blank-slatey-ness too. And just because Vader's damn stronghold, this is the bestest. (Aaaaaaand now I want Kylo Ren at Bast Castle. Possibly in the company of his cousin Rey.)
