Re: Padme: OMG, a poor role model. But... but... but... she is a tragic heroine! The point of tragic hero/ines is that they have these deep flaws that blow up in their faces. And this is what I love about RotS, because the tragedies are... so deeply human. And they blow up believably and in a way where I can see how they got there and all the different things that could make the tragedy not happen if X or Y or Z had changed. I mean, Anakin and Obi-wan are lousy role models too. And they're supposed to be. Because it's a tragedy which IMO is another word for "cautionary tale".
