Sometimes I wonder if there'd be less 'Georgiana was asking for it' wank if she were slim and delicate and as pretty as Darcy. It's probably the shy = teh ebil thing, though.

Heh, I do too! Austen's anyway, because it's delightfully snide and it's kind of awesome to be able to point and say 'but she says he didn't love her!' Or, alternatively, to happen across something and go, 'oh, he did want Bingley to marry Georgiana? Huh, that's interesting.'

Sometimes, I'm tempted to footnote my fics everywhere I diverge from fanon - with, you know, citations and stuff. But that would take forever and probably offend entire armies of fen.
