I reblogged a infographic about the Greek genocide, and tagged it:
#this was such a genuine shock to learn about
[ETA 8/1/2023: I didn't learn about it from the graphic, but was referring to my shock when I learned about it several years earlier. I actually had some hints from my grandmother, who just periodically says "we don't like Turks" and vaguely references something bad that happened, apparently not long before her birth, but I thought it was just random Islamophobia for a long time. Obviously "we don't like Turks" is still bad, but it's honestly difficult to even explain the moment of "wait, what happened?"]
