It doesn't bother me as much with Leia, because I see it less now than I did even five years ago.

What really bothers me is Breha. Breha is queen! In a matriarchy! in what fucking world would she take her husband's name?!? Which is why I headcanon that the "Senator Bail Antilles of Alderaan" who gets mentioned as a candidate for Chancellor in TPM is Leia's dad, and he took his wife's last name when they got married.
