anghraine: a shaft of divine light illuminates a bg3 female half-elf cleric (larissa (cleric))

BG3: still on my nonsense

I could just, idk, actually play the game, but ... I'm honestly just sort of baffled at how the Gale/Larissa game is going to go. I really thought that, if being a cleric of Mystra had any effect on romancing Gale, it would make things more difficult. But while it certainly has an effect (/cough), thus far it's been entirely helpful. Like:

  • Larissa, like everyone, initially found Gale struggling inside an unstable magic rune. Her tie to Mystra didn't make it harder to rescue him; instead, Larissa's allegiance to Mystra gave her advantage in pulling Gale out of the rune.
  • Gale sometimes appeals to Mystra when he casts spells, and Larissa is speed-running the romance because he approves of her prayers to Mystra.
  • Their incredibly shippy channeling-the-Weave scene is precipitated by Larissa's recognition of his devotion to Mystra, which she shares and which they bond over. As Gale guides Larissa in channeling the Weave, she automatically succeeds on everything due to her affiliation with Mystra and devotion to her. Larissa then feels Mystra's presence "like the anticipation of a kiss" and the Weave connects Gale and Larissa to the point that they simply feel what the other one feels, and they share a moment of romantic longing in communion.
  • me, someone who doesn't know all the spoilers but definitely knows some: Mystra, what is your deal
