BG3: enter one(1) wizard
After picking up Shadowheart as usual, I took a detour to ensure that Gale joined the party as soon as possible, in order to gain the maximum amount of approval from him. I actually really love his introduction, but there was a rather surprising small variant this time:
Some classes get the chance to try and magically soothe the unstable rune that Gale is caught in, making a check with your spellcasting attribute. All the previous times I did it, the option just said [Paladin] or [Cleric], and the DC is low enough that it's pretty easy (esp as a cleric carrying Guidance to boost whatever I roll). But Larissa got a [Cleric of Mystra] option rather than generic [Cleric], so I was unsure how well her powers from Mystra would work on Gale's situation.
Great, it turns out! Being a cleric of Mystra in particular gave Larissa advantage on the roll, which my other cleric did not get, and I'd rather expected it might give disadvantage. So that plot already thickens!
Evocation is a bit generic (and I'm playing an evocation wizard in Pathfinder), but the party is defensive enough that I'm going want the damage, so that's what I'm doing with him. Onwards!
Oh, and here's one of my favorite bits from the intro:
