I’ve gotten a bunch of new followers recently and I’m not sure why—but regardless, hi!
[ETA 4/28/2024: I'm cross-posting this one mainly for record-keeping purposes, though I've added Dreamwidth-relevant clarifications in brackets. I've also been recently fixing, consolidating, and adding some DW tags for a more consistent system over here, so some older posts are only under the tags for the relevant fandoms and characters rather than the specific book, show, or film they're referencing. Anything Austen-related is under #fandom: austen, say, but many of my older Pride and Prejudice-specific posts don't have the P&P tag because I instituted the specific tag more recently.]
Run-down: my name is Elizabeth and I’m a 30-odd, US American PhD student. I study 16th-, 17th-, and 18th-century British literature, primarily 18th [ETA: and early seventeenth, these days]. I also kind of hate academia at this point, lol, so you’ll see a lot of complaining about it unless you block #ivory tower blogging [DW tag: #uni and academia for anything related to academia, while #complaining covers exactly what you'd expect].
I talk reasonably often about mental health issues; I have autism, bipolar II, and anxiety, and my general tag is #rare breed of attack unicorn [DW tag: the same; I also tend to tag the specific disorders more often over here, since I don't have to worry about them going into a site-wide autism tag or whatnot; e.g., posts about anxiety are tagged with both #rare breed of attack unicorn and #anxiety].
I write original fiction in addition to fanfic and angst about it; the tag is #original fic rambles [DW tag: #original fiction, though plenty of it is either locked or under a different account], and vaguer or more general writing stuff is just #writing [DW tag: the same]. Rambling about my fanfic is under #fic talk [DW tag: #genre: fic talk, usually accompanied by a specific tag for the fic or verse, such as #fic talk: lucy skywalker for my f!Luke Skywalker fics].

- Austen—mainly P&P the book [DW tag: #book: pride and prejudice]. The tag is #austen blogging [DW master tag: #fandom: austen]. I usually tag by character, and also tag #lady anne blogging for Darcy stanning [DW tag: I never made a DW counterpart for this, so all Darcy content is under #ch: fitzwilliam darcy] and otp of otps for Darcy/Elizabeth [DW tag: #ship: darcy/elizabeth]. Wank is under #austen fanwank [DW tag: #wank and/or #rants for all fandoms, the rant tag for longer, more involved screeds]. I dislike the 1995 P&P, and grumbling about it is under #pride and prejudice 1995 [DW tag: #tv: pride and prejudice 1995].
- Tolkien—his writings only. My faves are Gondor (#ondonórë blogging) [DW tag: #gondor] and the Stewards (#húrinionath) [DW tag: same], and I (predictably) have a towering resentment of the films’ treatment of them, though I can admit they’re good in some other ways (tag: #lord of the rings movies) [DW tag: #film: lord of the rings 2001]. The main tags are #legendarium blogging [DW tag: #fandom: middle-earth] and #legendarium fanwank [DW tag: I don't use fandom-specific wank tags, just the general ones mentioned under Austen]. I also have strong feelings about Númenor and am firmly pro-Faithful (#númenórë, #team faithful) [DW tags: #númenor and #the faithful]. My main ships are Faramir/Éowyn (#otp: and the sun shone) [DW tag: #ship: faramir/éowyn], Faramir/Aragorn (#otp: love was kindled) [DW tag: ship: faramir/aragorn], Andreth/Aegnor (#otp: nirnaeth arnoediad) [DW tag: #ship: aegnor/andreth], and Aegnor/Andreth/Finrod (ot3: await us there) [DW tag: #ship: finrod/andreth/aegnor]. My favorite character is Faramir and my Faramir-centric tag is #jewel of the seashore [DW tag: I never made a DW version and all things Faramir are under #ch: faramir]. The Amazon prequel is under #tv: lotr [DW tag: #tv: the rings of power].
- Star Wars films—I don’t like them all, but I like a lot of them, and find them all interesting in some capacity or another. I’m not a fan of expanded universes and grumping about SW’s in particular is under #sweu critical [DW tag: same, though there's a more general SWEU tag, #star wars expanded universe]. I think the ST is okayish and tag it as #tfa for ts [DW tag: I don't separate out the sequels on DW except as individual films, but my opinion of TFA and particularly TROS has dropped since then]. I’m largely here for Anakin and Luke (#cleft chins and cyborg hands) [DW tag: none beyond the #ch: anakin skywalker and #ch: luke skywalker tags], Luke and Leia (#the skywalker twins) [DW tag: none, but all Leia content is under #ch: leia organa], Anakin and Luke and Leia (#the skywalkers) [DW tag: none], and Jyn/Cassian (#otp: welcome home) [DW tag: #ship: jyn/cassian]. Also, I have the main SW tag and assorted others blocked for my peace of mind, so I’ll only see SW posts if I’m tagged in them [not a concern on Dreamwidth!].
- ATLA/LOK—I like them both! My main tags are #avatar: the last airbender [DW tag: #tv: avatar the last airbender] and #avatar: the legend of korra [DW tag: #tv: avatar the legend of korra], with wank for both under #lok fanwank (I was in LOK fandom first) [DW tag: none, except the master tag #fandom: avatar for everything]. My favorite characters from LOK are Korra, Noatak/Amon, Tarrlok, and Kuvira, all tagged by name (#noatak for Noatak) [DW tags: #ch: korra, #ch: noatak, #ch: tarrlok, #ch: kuvira]. My favorite relationships are Korra/Kuvira (#otp: i see myself in you) [DW tag: #ship: korra/kuvira] and Noatak and Tarrlok’s (#the bloodbending brothers) [DW tag: none]. Zuko is my fave from ATLA [DW tag: #ch: zuko], but I like nearly all the main cast. I vaguely ship Taang [DW tag: #ship: aang/toph] and Zukaang [DW tag: #ship: zuko/aang], but not enough to talk about them much. I have a lot blocked, so again, probably won’t see posts unless I’m tagged [also not true for Dreamwidth].
