I have this whole post that I'm tinkering with that's my reaction post to the novelization which I finished two whole months ago and it mostly boils down to...this is far less up my alley than I was led to believe :p But especially agreed on the "father's eyes" bit; it's just so...you know how there are details in the novelization that suggest the writer didn't actually see a cut of the movie first but just got descriptions and bits of the script?
