Not editing as I write is ... incredibly difficult. I don't even know how people do it for real. I'm ... uh, trying to do it less, I guess. And trying not to worry about head-hopping and characterisation and narm and all of it.
I love doing NaNoWriMo, but I suck at it.
Anyway! Day 4 of the Star Wars meme:
What is your favourite moment to mock?
...
not!Vader's NOOOOOOO
Ewok slingshots
Wookiee porn
Qui-Gon's ... plan, for lack of a better word
AOTC's entire plot
Senators can't get married?
I HATE YOU!!!!!
I can only choose one? Um. Um. Well, I'm not sure how much mocking I do personally (I go more for 'long-winded rants') -- but the most mockable moments have got to be the Anakin/Padmé scenes -- the agonisingly stiff dialogue, senseless clichés, and idiot plot in all their glory. A lot of these are in AOTC, which I've already complained about at length, but -- you know what? The most mockable one by far comes from ROTS, unquestionably the best of the prequels.
The scene on Padmé's balcony: yes, that scene. I can't really describe it, so ... here:
ANAKIN: You are so beautiful.
Okay, can't really argue with that. I suspect their mutual prettiness is the primary reason that they're married: hm, how can I retroactively have a pretty blond son and attractive brunette daughter? Oh, I know!
PADMÉ: It's only because I'm so in love.
ANAKIN: No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
PADMÉ: So, love has blinded you?
ANAKIN: Well, that's not exactly what I meant.
PADMÉ: It's probably true.
I no longer even know what this conversation is about. The best thing I can say for it is that the actors' performances improve dramatically if you hit the mute button.
This, incidentally, is true for most of the prequels. Oh, Darths and Droids, the things you have taught me.
