anghraineI like Catradora for a lot of reasons, and suspect most of them are pretty standard, but also ... as an Adora stan, part of it is because I really want her to have someone in her life who may not always fully grasp who she is, but does have a personal understanding of what made her that way.
Also, it's like—okay, imagining an AU where Catra got her head screwed on right sooner, I am pretty sure she would not have responded well to Glimmer's treatment of Adora in S4. And honestly, I would very much like Adora to have someone in her life who would Not Respond Well.
I did really like Bow straight-up telling Glimmer that she's wrong and rightly siding with Adora, but he's very reasonable about it. I kind of want someone who wouldn't be reasonable about it! She's still Catra.
Of course, Adora is strong in her own right and will angrily assert herself. But I think she's also extremely vulnerable and obsessed with fixing things in a way that leads her to put up with a lot more shit than she should. Catra is vulnerable in her own ways, but putting up with shit is not exactly one of her most distinctive qualities; I imagine she'd be pretty much "yeah, fuck that."
I mean, I suspect that's not going to be Catra and Adora's dynamic in their actual reconciled scenes, but even so, I feel like Catra's mixture of guilt and aggression could make her very ... um, assertive on Adora's behalf if she thinks Adora is in the right. And I'd really like Adora to have that.
