on 2011-07-28 03:19 pm (UTC)Oh, good. I honestly don't know what's ... I don't want to say normal. But - remotely common. I do think we're heavily socialized into gender, and it mostly works. But sometimes it doesn't take very well, and I guess I'm one of those people.
(and the whole 'girls aren't good at math' thing. WTF? i was excellent at math. my AP calculus class? all female. and my verbal and math SAT scores were almost exactly the same. and they were pretty good! though not as good as yours -- the verbal i mean. wow.)
Oh, awesome! I mean, for you and your classmates. That's completely unlike my experience, so I'm really glad to hear it happens. And thank you about the SATs, heh - at the time it was just a "of course I did well/badly," but now I (obviously!) see it a bit differently. Peering through a fog of sexism can alter your perceptions, I guess!
(also, just as a personal anecdote, losing weight won't necessarily shrink your breasts. it has not been my experience, alas.)
*wince* ack! it does for me, fortunately. And unfortunately, when I gain weight. My feet also, uh, wax and wane with my overall weight.
Ha, I don't need any stinking points. Any comment is nice, as long as it's not about Viagra! Also, your icon is gorgeous.
