I occasionally use ship portmanteau names out of familiarity, but they are still a scourge among us.

...it took me a moment or several to process "Dizzy" as "Darcy/Elizabeth".

And then I NOPED OUT OF THAT and MY BRAIN BROKE.

There are portmanteau ship names, which as a category I can take or leave, and then there is just WRONG FOREVER.

LBD was into 'Dizzie' and I was just ... ugh kill me now. But there are a lot that are equally repulsive, haha. I really prefer the old school slashnames. (Curse tumblr's shitty programming!)

Ouch, "Dizzie", I can't. I'll be honest, I don't mind portmanteau ship names as a concept, but the execution is often ugh.

And, wow, but I just noticed that the title of this post was "*shakes cane*" and then I SQUEED SO HARD, because I often refer to my assorted forms of old-school-fan crankiness as "cane-tapping" and so, fellow cranky old-school fan, I salute you!
