I have zero intention of deleting my Tumblr account (God forbid), but I did download it, and ... crossposting aside, the general uncertainty and sense of Our Days Are Numbered does not make me at all inclined to post much there. Maybe it will pass! But for now, I feel much more secure just keeping my stuff on Dreamwidth and not worrying about backing Tumblr up again.

(I guess I could crosspost in real time, but meh. We'll see.)

Someone on my Tumblr feed (bomberqueen/dragonlady, I think) pointed out how much traffic was down, and I really saw it when I clicked into my activity feed. I'm not planning to leave either, but my involvement may die a natural death. Especially now that I've installed software to kick me off at a reasonable hour of the night!

Gladly! :D It's a browser extension called Leechlock, although there are others out there. I installed it and told it to kick me off Tumblr and Facebook after 10 pm, and not let me get back on. I also told it to limit my time on each. My favorite part is it has a little counter that tells you how much time you have left

Those are my two biggest time-sucks/mindless scrolling sites, but you can specify up to six sites, and tell it things like, "don't let me browse these during working hours" or "only let me look at Tumblr for 10 minutes per hour" or whatever. I'm just using it in this way to make sure I don't spend all my free time scrolling instead of writing or reading, and to shut down my computer at a reasonable hour.

I mean, it doesn't stop me from reading fanfic on my iPad until 1 am, but at least I'm in bed.

Yeah, my activity bar is pretty much just a couple of popular posts from years ago. Partly that's because I'm not posting much myself, I'm sure, but there's not much motivation to post things that could be wiped out at any moment, so... yeah, natural death seems about right.

Where fandom goes, I go! But...cross-posting for sure, and especially with external links not showing up in search, my motivation to post fic is zero there.

It had a good run, but I'm not going to be extra sad if fandom really does move somewhere else.

I tend to run a ways behind fandom, but I always end up there at some point. DW can only go so far with image hosting so clunky, but I'm hoping a solid chunk of fandom settles down here anyway. I'm sure as hell not using my Twitter for fandom, anyway. We might just end up scattered across platforms, which ... eh.

To be honest, I’m mostly sticking around on Tumblr out of spite. I haven’t noticed much change in activity levels, but I was never much of a sensation over there.

Same, basically. I'll probably reblog stuff and continue to post my fic promos at my fanfic writing sideblog at the main blog. I'll also keep posting my #writingwednesday at the writeblr, but that's all stuff I'm also posting and promoting other places (Wordpress is my main original fic focus). Tumblr isn't a good place to be the sole repository of your work, and lately Tumblr isn't a good place generally.
