Lucyverse Vader is less than ten years older than me, and I’m just … :(

He's ~officially a little older when he dies in canon, but a) I don't care about what's official, and b) it's not ... that much older. :( :( :(

THIS. These moments giving the characters time to actually communicate about ideals and goals render me inarticulate, but I love them.

I responded:

Oh hey, thank you very much! That’s definitely part of the idea behind the AU—having them interact in that year between ESB and ROTJ gives a chance for them to actually talk and negotiate those differences, even if the talking often doesn’t go well! (Though better, here.)

It seems suitable that Anakin and Padmé are frolicking in an idyllic field, and Leia and Luke in an icy wasteland.

I reblogged a gifset of Anakin's final moments, with Luke saying "I won't leave you" and then sorrowfully lowering his head as he realizes Anakin is dead. I added:

Luke's very real grief here is just—heartbreaking, but also really satisfying narratively.

I made progress on today's chapter, but not enough to post, so:

“—disintegrated by Lord Vader,” finished Ellex.

Vader glanced between them. Ellex clattered a little from some indistinguishable motion, but to Lucy’s senses, he seemed intrigued rather than angered.

“Who have I disintegrated today?” he asked.

Lucy thought it might be a joke.

“No one,” she said. “I mean, I assume.”
