Since it is evident that artistic method is concerned with pisteis and since pisteis is a sort of apodeixis (for we must believe when we suppose something to have been demonstrated) and since rhetorical apodeixis is enthymeme (and this is, generally speaking, the strongest of the pisteis) and the enthymeme is a sort of syllogism (and it is a function of dialectic, either as a whole or one of its parts, to see about every syllogism equally), it is clear that he who is best able to see from what materials, and how, a syllogism arises would also be most enthymematic…

I’m thoroughly regretting taking rhetoric right now.

Deconstruction gave me the worst imposter syndrome I've ever had in my life. Now I am both more arrogant and more impatient, and much more willing to say, nope, that was totally Derrida's fault. It's so nice not to be 22!

It is very, very nice not to be 22. I actually managed to mostly avoid the deconstructionists by hiding out in a psych double major (me: oops I'm too busy taking *checks hand* psychological methodology) and then pre-1900 lit in my MA (me: welp I have a Chaucer seminar to take, this will be extremely relevant to my eighteenth century scholarship) but there are definitely people I couldn't avoid that had me feeling that I'd never (or shouldn't!) make it in academia, and now it's just "nahhh, screw you."
