I'm in a very weird place right now. I'm one of the people for whom TLJ really didn't work (and I'm now realizing that much of this has to do with the story-threads it inherited from TFA, meaning it only compounded on problems I already had). However, I'm also *not* on board with the 'waaargarbl how dare they not horribly murder Kylo Ren!!!' / [insert curses at Rian Johnson here] crowd. They scare the daylights out of me. So I feel dejected and tired. We had pretty much opposite reactions in regard to the film, but I love how level-headed and kind you are. Particularly when compared to the dumpster-fire that is my dashboard right now. For my part, I’ll probably bow out of the fandom / stick with a small group of people I love and trust, because all of the screaming has just burned me out. One of the reasons I’m not with the shouty party is because I’ve had enough experience when it comes to this fandom crapping on what I like, I’m *never* going to do it to other people.

Hey, you sent this a long time ago, but I did want to let you know that I very much appreciate it. I absolutely love TLJ, and can’t lie, I’ve often resented being unable to talk about it without stepping on toes when so much of my dash is, like yours, not exactly notable for restraint. So it’s always been a pleasure and relief to see this in my inbox.
