on 2011-01-11 04:20 am (UTC)I get Mary Sue paranoid a lot. I suspect you never got that accusation because Mary Sue's biggest flaw is to suck the story in like a black hole, deforming it.
The story was a missing moment in which her obliviousness is accessory to something that already happened in canon.
Also, honest, I don't think most of the JA fandom even knows what a Mary Sue is (though perhaps now they do?). I remember how I failed epically to explain it to S when I first came because I just couldn't conceive they hadn't heard about them.
And of course, and more importantly, Darcy wasn't attracted to her and they didn't ever marry or anything. That also helps. :P
