Not everyone in LOTR respects Gondor the way I feel they should, but shout-out to the giant Eagles:

Sing and rejoice, ye people of the Tower of Guard,
for your watch hath not been in vain.

#honestly that line is just so... :') #i actually get shivers when i read it haha #yes the eagles are also royalists but that is to be expected and they APPRECIATE MY FAVE which is what matters #just 'your watch has not been in vain' #!!!!!!! #also he calls them 'people of the tower of anor' too and i love that it's like #all the sun imagery and then minas tirith just erupts into people singing in 'all the ways of the City' #(just imagine all the different styles and languages all at once just bc - like. i think that moment is very powerful #of course!!!! like - immensely so! for pretty much everyone in their own ways. but for minas tirith specifically it's got to be... !!!!!!!! #they lived and breathed the war for generations and then suddenly it's just... over) #it actually reminds me of denethor's line: #'then we may feel that our vigil was not fruitless though it may have been thankless' *sniff*
