anghraineI was thinking some more about SW ages because of a line in the Lucy recording, and going by the scripts (I'm not interested in ~official timelines or w/e):
- AOTC is explicitly 10 years after TPM
- ROTS is an unknown length of time after AOTC, though I'd think several years
- ANH is 18 years after ROTS
- ESB is an unknown length of time after ANH, though I'd think at least a year
- ROTJ is an unknown length of time after ANH, though the fact that Luke gets confirmation from Yoda in it suggests it hasn't been that long IMO, perhaps a year.
Ages:
Obi-Wan = 25 in TPM, 35 in AOTC
Padmé = doesn't actually say, only that it's been 10 years since TPM. I think the promo material said she was 14 in TPM, but that's not mentioned here.
Anakin = about 9 in TPM, about 19 in AOTC.
Luke = 18 in ANH
Leia = about sixteen in ANH, retconned to be Luke's twin, so 18
Han = about 30 in ANH
Okay, now onto some guesswork.
I feel like the biggest time jump, after TPM -> AOTC, is probably AOTC -> ROTS. My impression is that we're looking at 3-4 years, though, so let's go 4. That would make Obi-Wan 39, Padmé ???? but probably late twenties or very early 30s when she dies, and Anakin around 23 when he falls to the Dark Side.
Therefore, during the ANH duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin, Obi-Wan is around 57, while Anakin is around 41. Meanwhile, Han is around 30 and Luke and Leia are 18. On the bright side, Han's attraction to Leia reads as less creepy this way. That said, he's actually closer in age to Anakin than Leia, if only barely (this all got started by a line I'd written where Vader mentally identifies Han as a man about ten years younger than himself, and my brain went "wait, then that means...").
ESB strikes me as 1-2 years after ANH, but maybe 3. I'll go with 2, so by the time of the Cloud City duel, Anakin is around 43, Han is around 32, and Luke and Leia are around 20. Going with a year between ESB and ROTJ, Anakin dies at around 44 years old, grieved by an around 21-year-old son. Han and Leia get together at around 33 and 21.
There's clearly some leeway here, but that's pretty much the timeline as it exists in my head. :(
