I don't have the brainpower for anything else, so here's a meme I stumbled across, though I don't remember where.

What are your top ten most-read stories at AO3 (by hit count)?

(1) First Impressions, of course (2215) -- P&P, Regency, double genderswap.  Partly I think it's because it was written for an au_bigbang, partly because it deals with social issues of general interest (gender, obvs), partly because it's both long(ish) and *gasp* complete, and partly because it genuinely is the best thing I've ever written, even if the pacing is wonky.

(2) Season of Courtship (958) -- P&P, Regency, canon-compliant courtship interquel thingy.  Longish, fluffy-romantic (...for me), finished, character heavy, and four years later it's still one of the better things I've written.  I'm not really surprised to see it here, though I didn't expect it in the #2 slot.

(3) Beyond Knowledge (952) -- P&P, Regency, canon-compliant first kiss.  This one is kind of inexplicable for me.  I just wanted some nice canon-compliant fluff and couldn't find any, so sat down and wrote it myself.  It was fun to write, sure, but it's just a short one-shot that didn't take much effort and I never thought it would be much-read.  Apparently fluff conquers all.

(4) Ten Facts About Pride and Prejudice (920) -- P&P, Regency, half canon-compliant and half crack AU fusions.  While I definitely enjoyed the serious character-study half, I'd be willing to bet that this one owes its (comparative) popularity to the Jedi Time Lord Superman Chuck Norris Darcy.  Again, not a long one or for a challenge or anything.  IDK.

(5) Contradictions and Varieties (810) -- P&P, Regency AU.  A short (four-chapter), serious and of course fluffy story about Elizabeth's trip to Pemberley and then Lady Catherine not showing up.  Also, one obnoxiously cute child and random tragic Colonel Fitzwilliam.  But it's happy!  And finished!

(6) Ten Facts About Altair Lestrange (569) -- P&P/HP AU fusion.  P&P takes place in its own time, but in the Potterverse; Altair = Darcy.  One-shot, very short, finished.  ... That's about it, really.

(7) The Rich Are Always Respectable: Elizabeth (514) -- P&P, Regency AU.  Well, one-third of a Regency AU, since I decided to post the three parts as a series rather than a single story.  TRAAR is not fluffy, but it is both long and finished.  I don't think it's the best thing I've written by any extent, but it's ... okay.  I have a certain lingering fondness for the wholesale character slaughter, mostly for the evulz.

(8) Ten Facts About Henry and Catherine Darcy (496) -- P&P, Regency, double genderswap.  It's a Ten Facts companion piece to First Impressions.  No, that's it: just random paralleling facts about the alt!D&E from FI.  It's picked up some reflected glory, I guess?  Or maybe my readers just like Ten Facts fic as much as I do.

(9) Ten Facts About Star Wars (453) -- SW, AU, slightly alternate canon.  This is one of the ubiquitous ROTS AUs, and also a ROTJ AU, and a bizarre hybrid of Ten Facts fic and normal short story in only vaguely chronological order.  Let's see, no pairings, rather short, heavy on character and light on any plot whatsoever.  It's finished and more than 200 words, though, which is more than I can say for most of my SW fic -- if any of them were going to make it, I'd expect it to be this one.

(10) Ten Facts About Harry Potter (426) -- HP, AU, Slytherin!Harry.  A much more typical Ten Facts fic about what Harry's first year in Slytherin might have been like.  It's a pretty popular premise, I think, and people definitely are clicking on Ten Facts fic.  Awesome.

Overall, it looks like people are most likely to click on my fic that's (1) finished, (2) more than drabble-length, but not necessarily that long, and (3) Austen-based, though some one-shots from other fandoms got up there too.  Satisfyingly, SC isn't even on the first page.  Thank you, anonymous AO3 clicker people!

What are your top ten favourites of your stories at AO3?

(1) First Impressions (see above)

(2) Claims To Reputation, P&P.  Because I love (1) sequels, (2) next-generation stuff, (3) mature versions of young canon characters, (4) OCs and general world-building, and (5) epistolary fiction.  Also, I think it's some of my best writing, WIP or not.

(3) The Letters of Elizabeth Darcy (1796-1798), P&P.  This is basically a prologue to #2 and likewise one of the things I'm happiest with.  I wanted to have a bit of realism without writing against the happily ever after, and ended up pretty happy with how it came out.

(4) Path to Greatness, HP.  This is my original Slytherin!Harry one-shot and ... I still like it!  It's not ~mind-boggling genius~ but it does exactly what I want it to do, which is more than I usually manage with anything.

(5) Strange Bedfellows, SW.  This one's ... odd, because it's essentially a companion piece to something that doesn't exist.  While it's obviously very AU, going in you don't know anything about what the differences are or what's going on or anything, you just have to figure it out from the hints in the story itself.  Pretentious obscurity ftw!

(6) Five Women Fitzwilliam Darcy Never Married, Austen.  I only got around to writing two of them, but it's still one of my favourite things.  Weird, imperfect, anti-OTP relationships = happy times!  I was especially happy with Darcy/Mary, since she's so much the "bad girl" and hated by a lot of the fandom, and I managed to make that one canon-compliant for MP.

(7) Five Reveals That Never Happened, SW.  I love Five Things/Ten Facts fic, obviously, but this one is far and away my favourite of mine.  It was fun to write, it didn't require massive amounts of canon-welding, I could ignore vast swaths of canon without any implied Take Thats, I didn't end up with five involved AU WIPs on my hands, it's just ... here's some stuff that could have happened, but didn't!  Enjoy!

(8) Anomaly, P&P.  'Cause it's meta and fic and ace manifesto and character study and I like it.

(9) Once Upon A Time, SW.  This is not here because of its inherent worth.  It's choppy and episodic and I don't even bother with pacing or transitions.  But turning SW into a female-dominated fantasy world makes me squee just about every time I think of it.  So no, it's not that great, but it's a favourite anyway because I get to subvert patriarchal dominance while enjoying myself.

(10) That Which Is Given, Middle-earth.  I've always wondered why Fíriel never inherited the throne of Gondor.  So I wrote a story where she did.  I think it's reasonably well-written, and it's deeply satisfying.

Even so, AO3 clicks line up with my personal opinions a lot better than Austen fandom's does.  We're soulmates on the astral plane or something, as long as I write Austen fic.  And finish stuff, of course.
