Thank you! I was a bit leery about putting him there, but hell, caring about their welfare at all puts him ahead of Yoda. And yeah, Obi-Wan would probably go along with whatever Yoda wanted anyway -- but he's still not the one to make the decision and I'm like WTF YODA, WHO DIED AND MADE YOU BOSS OH WAIT. And I feel reasonably certain that even the derailed/Force-warped Padmé of ROTS would not have been onboard with this plan.

I completely agree about Anakin and attachments. I mean, even after twenty years of evil-doing, it takes like two meetings with Luke before he's willing to let himself be electrocuted to death for him. (This is my biggest problem with most of the Vader-raises-Luke-and/or-Leia stories -- not that he's too cuddly for Vader, but that he's Vader at all. I, ah, might have worked a little on the Lucy AU we talked about, and ran into that right away.)

And yeah, Yoda's reaction makes it evident that he knows very little about Anakin and never has. Admittedly, it's not like he was Anakin's master so maybe he didn't have a chance to get to know him, but that brings me right back around to asking why he could take custody of Anakin's children if he was that remote? Gah.

(I suspect this is one of the bones of contention that Luke and Leia scream over once in awhile, because he can regard what happened as simple kidnapping without bringing his own well-meaning guardians into it, but she can't and it becomes part of her tangles mass of parental issues.)
