Oh also, I'm a little bit with you about canon!Bail. I mean, I actually do like him -- Lucy probably made that clear, ha -- and my issues tend to be more with Owen (I'm always leery about the stamp-the-weirdness-out-of-him approach to childrearing, and I get a definitely impression that he's trying to do that with Luke and mould him into something he really, really isn't). And I think Bail must have had nerves of steel to bring up Darth Vader's daughter right under his nose.

But he strikes me as a little out of touch with the reality of war, maybe, and kind of YAY REVOLUTION! Where the others are more measured and cautious, I think. And I'm a bit uncomfortable with the way he, Yoda, and Obi-Wan assume custody of the Skywalker twins, even though they have basically no rights to them AND the children have plenty of relatives who are not psychotic Sith Lords.
