well, poledra figured out how to shapechange on her own, and beldin made vella into a bird himself, so unless Pol found a shapechanger for herself or was willing to live the rest of her days in another form with a mate, i guess there wasn't really any choice but to give Durnik powers.

it confuses me that there would be troi hate amongst the white male geek contingent because she's hot. what else do they need? hrmph.
