I... um... might want to write for this 'verse, with your permission

You have it! I am very fond of the 'verse myself but am having trouble actually writing it out. I can send you what I have so far though, if you want it, and you can play around with it or whatever.

So yes, it would be Darth Vader + two tomboys who are ... well, I brainstormed about the whole tomboy vs girly-girl thing when I was writing the canon fic and chatted with a friend about it, so let me see what I can find about it. *searches* Okay, here's what I said:

they're both idealists and self-sacrificial, but in rather different ways. it's kind of popular in the fandom to say that Luke takes after their mother and Leia after their father, but that seems to ignore everyone being "whoa, just like your dad" to him and that Luke spent two movies running on rage and idealism before graduating to badass!zen!Luke and that Leia does not pick (physical) fights at all.

...

[on simple explanations being more satisfactory] and especially when you have an easy dichotomy. dark aggressive Leia/blond gentle Luke. which is kind of true, but ignores the finer points -- like, she automatically relies on words and Luke on blowing things up. so with Lucy, I want there to be similarities but there are also many differences. so it's not just Leia the wild twin and Lucy the good twin.

...

Lucy is restless and ambitious, for instance, and I think she's more resentful, too. Leia is much more grounded and less impulsive, but has a nastier temper. well, Leia is very abrasive but also very together. like, ALL THE TIEMZ. and when Luke is pissed at Han for running off, she's all "you cannot choose his path, he must find his own way *zen*". Also, she cuddles him after Obi-Wan dies. she just watched her entire planet get blown up, btw and she's all "you just saw your mentor die, let me comfort you, person I barely know"

<3 Leia forever. there is basically nothing she does ever that isn't completely hardcore in some way or another.

...

Lucy is both harder and gentler in ways -- more ambitious and impatient and inclined to negotiate with her lightsaber, but also more likely to forgive, to think that "I'd do anything for you" means, literally, ANYTHING, and to keep a program of Incorruptible Pure Pureness running on her hard drive. she's very sweet and Leia isn't, at all. also, innocent. no matter what happens she never quite loses it. [it's like canon] but I think it'd be much more pronounced in a girl.

...

at the award ceremony...Han doesn't even seem to have changed clothes -- it's Luke and Leia who dress up. she wears these elaborate braids and big flappy princess sleeves and a big silver belt. He wears fancy boots and a bright yellow coat and idek what shirt and brown breeches, and and and. so I imagine that Lucy is ... only a very borderline tomboy. She really likes the fancy clothes and long hair and elaborate costumes and all of it. so does Leia, but especially Lucy. so they'll geek out over the kinds of ridiculous things their mother wore.

...

Lucy is in this weird zone between very tomboyish AND very girly. I think Leia isn't quite at such far ends of the spectrum. like, she's both less tomboyish and less uber-feminine. you know the Tomboy and Girly Girl trope? (won't link, for your sanity) Lucy and Leia really trade it off, depending on the situation -- on ground, Lucy's the Girly Girl, but when it comes to war and battle it reverses.

So, that. Also, I do have an outline for the verse -- to summarize, Padmé does die on reasonably good terms with Anakin (well, by comparison w/ canon anyway) and Anakin is unharmed when he heads off to Naboo as a twenty-three-year-old widower with two infant daughters, to tell his in-laws that Padmé is dead and also, he was Padmé's husband, also she gave birth to twins, also nobody is taking his daughters from him. So everyone knows that "Darth Vader" is simply a title that the Emperor gave Anakin Skywalker for remaining loyal in face of ~Jedi treachery~/defeating the Separatists because, um, his face.

As the quotes above indicate, I imagine that Leia is both more and less tomboyish than Lucy, depending on the situation, but generally less extreme and more consistent than Lucy is. Not as aggressive and ruthless, not as sweet and gentle. So.

Re: P&P dolls -- awesome! I totally support re-reading. And it's not like it's very long. *whistles*
