so I'm the subject of a Youtube review
Jan. 22nd, 2012 01:17 pmWell, The Adventures of Lucy Skywalker is, anyway. I stumbled across it the other day, and it was ... um, okay, kind of weird, because a good portion of the review is the reviewer just reading and occasionally interspersing commentary, and the way she reads it sounds nothing like how it does in my head (it’s awful, but I kept wanting to say ‘um, I put those stops there for a reason’). It's not the accent, either, just ... I don't know. The rest is a brief sum-up of her opinions that seemed mostly about some other fic she disliked, but she concluded that mine is more than adequate, which was nice? You can try to watch/listen to it here, if you want.
Anyway, that got me thinking that I'd like to (1) read it aloud properly, and (2) do another commentary, and this seemed as good a place to start as any. So, I read it and chattered off the cuff and the prologue's here. I joked the other day that I can't make myself stop talking and, well, I might like the sound of my own voice too much. I managed to talk about the prologue for twenty-seven minutes, and probably 90% of what I said was just about canon. In the interests of accessibility and my recorder sucking, there's a transcript at my fic journals.
