Back in my misspent youth in LOTR fandom, I hung out with other fans of the House of the Stewards, especially Denethor and Faramir. And there was this minor wankstorm because, on a different site, every time one of us talked about Denethor or Faramir, there was this person who would somehow manage to make it about Aragorn (‘well, Aragorn can do anything they can and better’).
And now, in the year 2020, I’m seeing a post with a gazillion notes where the OP was trying to talk about Denethor and Faramir, and the reblog going around was like ‘yes and all that applies to Aragorn BUT MORE, because he’s BETTER at EVERYTHING’ and aghhhh I will never be free
#there are aspects of his character that would bother me regardless but... his fandom does not help #and i don't hate him i just af;dakjdfjkak;jdfjafdfjan #let us stan our faves in peace thanks bye
