Thank you! :-D Truth be told, your and ikkinthekitsune's posts about the brothers are my all-time favorites. I found them while doing what one friend calls "fandom anthropology," since I was looking through what's left of seven years' worth of facts, opinions, fics, and art. Said friend never watched either series, and was nice enough to listen to me talk about/cry over them. Another friend thinks about the brothers differently now, and a good number of thanks goes to the two of you for that!

Thank you very much :)

That’s a pretty great term for it, especially in this decayed fandom! And hah, I appreciate hearing that ikkinthekitsune’s and my reach extends so far. :D

I have exactly one non-LOK reblog in my queue, but … at least I have a queue?

Speaking of ikkinthekitsune, there was a post of hers I saw that I really like, and that, if the notes are to be believed, you haven't seen. It's titled "Tarrlok's Missing Link," and it explains how kid Tarrlok grew up and became present-day Tarrlok. I think you'll like it! :-D

I replied:

I had read it, but not in years and years! It’s still great :)

While I was doing fandom anthropology, I found that a significant number of those who hated the Book 1 finale were Lieumon shippers. Along with your thoughts on the ship, I've found that Lieumon is the most guilty of killing off a brother, and having the other one shrug it off (Amorra and Korrlok do it too, but not to the same extent; Korrlok is the lightest offender). It also doesn't help that Lieumon reminds me of two ships in my fandom that I have similar issues with.

Thank you for nourishing the flames of my hatred :D :D
anghraine: noatak/amon from legend of korra accidentally waterbending (noatak (waterbending))
I reblogged screenshots of Amon/Noatak dodging blasts of fire from Lightning Bolt Zolt early in LOK (1x04, I think?) and added:

I have to say, there’s something very satisfying about watching a waterbender own firebenders without even bending.

On top of it, he’s still doing it very much as a waterbender–look at how he moves. People said he seemed like an airbender, but really, he’s all about fluidity, flexibility, and instant adaptation to whatever comes his way. Element of change, y'all. He uses water to beat them even when he’s not bending.

A mere month ago, I was touched by notes on my LOK posts but baffled why anybody would still be reading them.

The Amon backstory fic has finally almost gotten to B1:

He didn’t know if it would work. Like Hiroshi, he’d have to experiment. He almost laughed at the idea of Hiroshi’s face if he heard his efforts compared to bending. But it was a necessary evil in this case.

Amon returned to his fights with the triads, this time with rather different intentions.

He needed live subjects.

(This is also the f!Tarrlok fic, but moved from "f!Tarrlok and young Noatak from Noatak's POV" to straight-up Amon backstory last chapter. And I think this is where all of my bloodbender feelings are going. Obviously, it has ... limited appeal, but some people are still reading, and it's fun, so :D)

I reblogged another gifset of Noatak's waterspout and said:

Bending with your mind is awesome. The only problem is, sometimes your mind goes “holy shit I’m drowning IMMA WATERSPOUT MY WAY OUT OF HERE.”

(note from the present: look, I really like that waterspout.)

I reblogged an extensive photoset of Kuvira at various points, and said:

I really shouldn't neglect my other villainous love.

I’m never quite sure what to do with myself after I post a chapter of something.

It’s like—oh, I finished, I can now be productive at other things!

And instead I’m just “…”
