I had this idea for a canon-compliant fic with Jyn and Lyra (and inevitably, Cassian) in the space afterlife, having adventures and emotional healing.

Her mother knelt, the idle strokes of her hand now catching her cheek, so she could look straight into Jyn’s eyes. 

“Sweetheart,” she said, “someone was with you when—right before you came here?”

“Yes,” insisted Jyn. 

Something, she couldn’t have said what, softened about Lyra’s figure, and her eyes and mouth too. She looked relieved, though Jyn didn’t know why.

“What do you remember?”
