My war cleric is level 3 and has 19 spells. It’s a good life :)

I love TFA, TLJ, and RO, and like Solo, so pretty much all SW news is good news for me. Everything looks cool and fun and multiple things focus on my faves. :D

“some of these fandom elders are in their thirties or older”

Uh, as opposed to elderly 20-somethings?

#what planet are y'all living on #apparently one where 20-somethings are a) old people who have no business in fandom #and b) near-children whose relationships with older people are pedophilia

some of us have CHILDREN in their 20s (gasp)

and I replied:

God forbid!!! It’s amazing you’re still upright.

I reblogged the Sorting Hat Chats quiz here—their system isn't quite how I understand the canon houses, but it's lots of fun.

According to the quiz, I'm living my best Slytherclaw life ;)

I just posted a 3000-word fic to AO3 with eight footnotes, which … well, I’m nothing if not on-brand at all times.

I really want to be writing fic, but what I’m actually doing

Three hours later:

Whining retracted! Teaching one of my favourite plays was great :)

#i was just listening to them argue about it with each other and like... LIVING THE DREAM

Friday is my free day, so!

For those two days, she flitted from bedside to bedside like a pale grey wraith, only remembering to eat when food was pressed on her, enduring with all her city. Then, at last, they all heard some clamour in the distance, voices raised in terror or, less probably, joy. Fíriel, sitting at her father’s side, looked uneasily at Ioreth.

And little Bergil came racing through the Houses, darting around the other healers to rush up to Fíriel.

“Lady Fíriel! Lady Fíriel!”

A glance at him dispelled all dread. He was full of excitement.

“What is it, Bergil?” asked Fíriel.

“The Rohirrim!” he cried, his small face shining. “Rohan has come at last!”

I'm in a very weird place right now. I'm one of the people for whom TLJ really didn't work (and I'm now realizing that much of this has to do with the story-threads it inherited from TFA, meaning it only compounded on problems I already had). However, I'm also *not* on board with the 'waaargarbl how dare they not horribly murder Kylo Ren!!!' / [insert curses at Rian Johnson here] crowd. They scare the daylights out of me. So I feel dejected and tired. We had pretty much opposite reactions in regard to the film, but I love how level-headed and kind you are. Particularly when compared to the dumpster-fire that is my dashboard right now. For my part, I’ll probably bow out of the fandom / stick with a small group of people I love and trust, because all of the screaming has just burned me out. One of the reasons I’m not with the shouty party is because I’ve had enough experience when it comes to this fandom crapping on what I like, I’m *never* going to do it to other people.

I replied:

Hey, you sent this a long time ago, but I did want to let you know that I very much appreciate it. I absolutely love TLJ, and can’t lie, I’ve often resented being unable to talk about it without stepping on toes when so much of my dash is, like yours, not exactly notable for restraint. So it’s always been a pleasure and relief to see this in my inbox.

Today’s procrastination has ascended to “making D&D character sheets for my original fic.”
