...I'm going to need a tag for this 'verse

I'm thinking some more about the Final Boss Amon AU and trying to figure out the details, and it's occurred to me that the main difficulty on the Korvira front is getting Kuvira and Korra in the same place during the B1 plot at all.
Two ideas sprang to mind:
1) Kuvira is actually held in Republic Cityfor reasons because of her popularity in the Earth Kingdom. In fact, she's in the same prison as a bunch of Equalists when Amon et al break them out. He considers taking the bending of other prisoners like Kuvira, but he wouldn't get a public performance out of it and he's on a time crunch, so she's able to escape—and promptly (somehow) goes to Korra to tell her what's going on. It's naturally very suspicious to just about everyone, but Korra is willing to hear her out, and the people sent to check out the prison do find that she was telling the truth (I'm imagining that the fight there doesn't go as well as hoped for either side). Ultimately things somehow transpire so that she ends up helping in the fight against the Equalists. (I was vaguely thinking that she ends up under Korra's direct supervision for some reason or another.)
2) Kuvira is actually held in some super-high-security location in the Earth Kingdom and Korra is initially there rather than in RC helping deal with the fallout from the Empire and the chaos before that (the intro to RC/pro-bending stuff would still be in the beginning of the series, so there's room in B1-as-B4 for other stuff). She visits Kuvira out of both a sense of vague responsibility and complicated but real rapport, while Kuvira tries not to look forward to it or to count on her continuing to visit. Throughout, Kuvira dutifully passes on information to help with the takedown of the Empire. All this screeches to a halt when Amon emerges in RC and Korra rushes away. Things ... happen, and idek what happens with Kuvira but somehow she gets involved (maybe this actually combines with #1? like, there are all these attempts to break her out and she's finally moved out of the EK altogether slightly before the revolution).
(I'm also trying to figure out how the love quadrangle happens, lol, given that Korra ends up with none of them.)
