Feb. 17th, 2022 05:39 pmI haven't posted about it on Tumblr bc I'm still trying to figure out how to articulate it for ... uh, that audience, but I think that there are plenty of white ROP ragebloggers who are perfectly ready to denounce the racism of other ragebloggers, but also perfectly ready to deliver their very important opinions on the Black actors' hair, and it's honestly pretty gross.
Tolkien has racist fans everywhere, but damn is there a certain strain of white European ones who are like ... oh, you're American, you can't possibly understand that "brown-skinned" can only mean "darker-skinned white person" except when he was talking about evil people, obviously.

Occasionally, I see people wondering why, if the Borgias were not really any worse than most Renaissance political families, they were so widely reviled and become a byword for corruption even in a very corrupt period. They must have done something that stood out from the others, right?
