Wherein two of my fandoms collide
Aug. 23rd, 2009 12:39 amAnd sadly, it is not Austen and Lord of the Rings, though I once sort of vaguely shipped Faramir/Jane. (The HMS Nice =/= Pushover.) Awhile back, I stumbled on a rather interesting short story; the Mary Bennet/Percy Weasley pairing was uninspiring, but the concept - P&P taking place in the historical wizarding world - was, well, kind of awesome. At least, it had potential for awesome.
Well, the story doesn't go into a lot of detail about wizarding!P&P - it takes place afterwards, apparently assuming that everything happened more or less the same. Which makes sense, and thankfully, it did drop a few tantalising details: e.g., while the Bennet sisters are all magical, only Elizabeth marries a wizard. There wasn't really much else - but enough that I got to thinking about how the premise would work out. And I eventually got around to writing a drabble in time for HG's Break, Breaker, Broken challenge:
