More P&P + @sortinghatchats, following from Elizabeth’s Slytherin/Gryffindor sorting: Darcy!

Bingley expressed great pleasure in the certainty of seeing Elizabeth again, having still a great deal to say to her, and many inquiries to make after all their Hertfordshire friends. Elizabeth, construing all this into a wish of hearing her speak about her sister, was pleased; and on this account, as well as some others, found herself, when their visitors left them, capable of considering the last half-hour with some satisfaction.

The date is purely because I posted various short things on the 13th that don't merit separate crossposts, but I am a completionist.

[warning: fic-spoilery references to canonical sibling incest]

alcmenne on Tumblr asked (embarrassingly long ago):

So I saw what the anon sent you about Darcy and I loved your response. It's the best interpretation I've read of Darcy's behaviour but - isn't it strange that he would have been okay with Elizabeth saying yes to him because it's a Good Marriage? Because he has flirted a bit, okay, but nothing very pointed. Like you said he hasn't tried to win her heart or anything. Isn't that a bit weird? I really love p&p but I guess I'm not as good at understanding it as you are!

The nice thing about having written so many fics over such a long period of time: finding fics that you don’t even really remember, but which are precisely tailored to your interests.

I went to look something up in Revenge of the Jedi, and now I'm just like ... yes. This is exactly what I want from the universe. Some things (with this and my early Austen long(ish)fic, in particular) are, uh, not necessarily good, but they are very definitely Me. Thank you, past!Elizabeth.

I vagueblogged at Tumblr:

If P&P were to be considered fanfic, it'd be closest to Much Ado About Nothing crossed with Burney's Evelina/Cecilia (not just Cecilia!!!).

Back to grading, and aghhhhh not answering questions is the worst way to answer questions!

(I try to take things as generously as they can be taken, but I can do nothing for you with a blank answer! I mean—YES, there are some answers so bad that I could only give them zero, but they're a tiny, tiny minority!)

It’s kind of amazing how it can be … oh, this has four hundred kudos, whatever for one fic, but then it’s incredibly exciting to have twenty-seven on something else.

Twenty-seven whole people liked my OFC gaming grudgefic! Two of them bookmarked it for the future. O_O
