The Hunter Biden congressional theatrics
Mar. 1st, 2024 08:40 amI've seen snippets of the House questioning Hunter Biden on the various GOP conspiracy theories, and on the one hand, it's incredibly stupid and just crafting an opportunity to supply dramatic moments for their base. On the bright side, Hunter himself seems ... extremely aware of this and his "bzuh?" at the whole thing (and specifically at Matt Gaetz) is kind of hilarious. Also, the Democratic members of the committee pointedly asking Hunter Biden if he/the president have done various things that Trump/the Trump family absolutely did led to this:
Swalwell: Did your father ever employ in the Oval Office any direct family member to also work in the Oval Office?
HB: My father has never employed any direct family members, to my knowledge.
Swalwell: While your father was President, did anyone in the family receive 41 trademarks from China?
HB: No.
Swalwell: As President and leader of the party, has your father ever tried to install as the chairperson of the party a daughter-in-law or anyone else in the family?
HB: No. And I don't think that anyone in my family would be crazy enough to want to be the chairperson of the DNC.
